HAVE ESSAY, WILL BAKE by Mette?

This is the first I've reviewed a recipe zeen simply because I think you can't really rate the experience without trying the food! This one then is the shortest recipe I've had the good fortune to know & thus I've managed to try all the recipes.

POSSIBLY THE EASIEST CAKE IN THE WORLD
I believe I can confirm that to be the case. It was very easy for my first cake. I had fun cooling it in the backyard during a spring sunset. I think I singed the coconut though.

METTE'S BANANA CAKE
I made this w/ my pal Pixie Stardust who hijacked the recipe into something vegan w/ lots of carob icing.

OBSCENELY DECADENT WHITE CHOCOLATE COCONUT CAKE
This one I served up @ my friend Ann Clarke's birthday party. It was as its title suggests, I bought cassious to go w/ the ganache topping.

CASTLE SHAPED CUSTARD & ORANGE CAKE
I didn't make it into a castle, but it was probably the best cake I made of the bunch. I served it up when my old housemates visited from Melbourne. It was nice to see them. They stayed about 10 minutes.

MY MUM'S GRANDMOTHER'S CHOCOLATE CAKEY GOODNESS
Contrasting w/ the custard & orange cake is my worst cake here. I made it for X-Mas in July & had my folks over for a feast, but the cake was hard & dry. The icing was good so I just ate the top half of slices until it was gone. That took nearly a week. It also featured the last of my remaining cassious.

DEAD TASTY MUFFIN RECIPE THAT CAN BE MODIFIED
This was the final recipe in the zeen & thus my most recent cooking adventure.  I made my muffins larger than the suggested size & had to bake 'em twice. I ate a very soft muffin in between baking sessions. When they were done they were very good & I took them to work to share w/ colleagues.

It was made by a woman who gave a DIY baking presentation on the grass beside the Octapod @ TINA 2007, it was part of Ianto Ware's patented Academy of DIY. I like the presentation & picked up a copy @ the TINA zeen fair. It's all about baking cakes & it's got really simple ingredients so it's easy if you're baking cakes for the first time (like me). A5 Portrait format, B&W skin & guts, bound w/ twine, contact brandnewarmour at gmail dot com.
