PARIS URBAN ARTISTS + LITERARY HAUNTS IN PARIS by Lisa Pham

These 2 zeens arrived via post & while standing alone well, their similarity & delivery makes me wanna review them together. Lisa's been living in Paris for yonks & has popped back into her old Melbourne stomping ground which has allowed for some reflection on her time & the affordability of zeen production to exhibit some of that reflection. Essentially this Parisian living has been extrapolated to cover themes already alluded to in the titles of this pair of zeens. These showcase two of Lisa's favourite things about Paris.
'Paris Urban Artists' an A6 portrait format zeen printed in full colour is Lisa's photos of the street art on Paris walls, profiling about 10 artists w/ weblinks & her own comments, descriptions & anecdotes for company. Artists include Space Invader, Jef Aerosol & Nemo (whose gallery work now goes for 10K+ in New York).
'Literary Haunts in Paris' is another A6 full colour number, this time in landscape format. This one has a more careful construction. It's based around a day trip to various venues in Paris famous for their relation to  literary history. Figures like Simone De Beauvoir, Ernest Hemingway & Marcel proust would hang out in these places. So each venue showcased in the zeen is referenced by its own map, context concerning their history & the visit described by Lisa too, then we're sometimes treated to a short extract or poem by the relevant writer. & There's tiny writer bios in the back.
These are nicely put together zeens also layed out via computer so they're available as pdfs too. They're fairly straightforward & not too pretentious or clever, very accessible. To find out more & maybe glean copies check out http://coloursofbohemia.blogspot.com & e-mail Lisa @ Gmail (dot come) with the same username as the blog.
