A BARREL OF MONKEYS IN A POOL OF DELIGHT by Patrick Lenton

This is a fairly silly zeen with a lot of absurd humour. All the articles are allegedly by or about the presumably fictitious Professor Kensington. It's not very heavy reading, but for a zeen it's a little impressive to see something thematically structured. It reminds me of Owen Lindsay's zeen, ONE INCH PUNCH, mostly for a similar humour style. The layouts are very different comparatively. Lenton's zeen is very sparse & simplistic, whereas Lindsay's craftily hops between detailed collage work & the sparse. But Lenton's thematic structure gives it strength where Lindsay's is a bit all over the place thematically. ABOMIAPOD is a mix of black & white guts & colour-print skin in an A5 portrait format on plain ol' copy paper. Contact: aristri at yahoo dot com
