Welcome to the Mimi Reproductive Health Zine Distro!

via The Mimi Zine Distro by betuladesigns on 3/29/10

The Mimi Collective was a small group of womyn in Maine dedicated to providing empowering learning materials and workshops about reproductive and sexual health, consent, safe sex, and queer and feminist hystory! This is our combined collection of zines about DIY reproductive health and freedom, written by many fabulous writers and activists and I am very excited to be able to share them.

This site is a work in progress–eventually there will be photos and descriptions of each zine, but until then, please email me if you want details on a particular zine.

This distro is strictly not for profit, and the prices listed are only suggested donations to help cover stamps and envelopes. NO ONE'S order will be denied for lack of funds. ZINES TO PRISONERS ARE ALWAYS FREE! Please share new titles, so I can continue to expand our library. LET'S TAKE OUR LIVES, OUR BODIES, AND OUR HEALTH INTO OUR OWN HANDS!!

Send zine orders, suggestions and donations to:

NEW TITLES!!!

Don't Be A Dick! Paul Brown brings us an insightful and earnest look at rape culture and pornography and what people with male privilege can do to address these issues in their lives. Honest and well organized, this is a good intro text for men working on sexism. $1

Ladders and Hips–An Open Letter to the Boys in my Life Kyla brings us a brutally honest and poignant account of eating disorders, sexual assault, and violence, as well as an address to men who don't respect the concept of survivor autonomy. This is a powerful zine, but does have writing that could be triggering, so read with care and support. (2008) $1

No More Denying–Facing Woman to Woman Sexual Violence An essay dispelling myths that violence is not an issue in lesbian relationships, and trying to address the unique needs that may come up for women trying to seek help and support when dealing with intimate violence from other women. Trigger warning! (2001) $1

Said the Pot to the Kettle–Feminist Theory for Anarchist Men A direct and humorous primer on feminism from a male perspective. The Zine covers dogma, consent, body image, and reproductive health in a compassionate, no-nonsense and entertaining way for men looking for ways to be better allies. $1

I recently attended a feminist event called FADGE Fest which was rad, and I traded for a lot of new zines with Silent City Distro, Support New York, and the CT Workers Solidarity Alliance. I am in the process of reviewing these zines and contacting their authors for permission to distro on this site, so keep checking for great new titles!
